I just got this cool phone to replace my p.o.s. sony ericsson, and I already know some cool tricks
I'm using the XP version of ActiveSync with Bluetooth (I don't have the USB cable for this phone) on my SAMSUNG Blackjack II from Fido (sim locked) and accessing the internet for free through my home wifi connection. And running Core Player to recieve live video at 30FPS.
I don't have a smartphone data plan, so if I start using EDGE or 3G it would probably cost me 10 billion dollars/KB so I had to come up with something.
To show how well it works, playing free, live TV on the phone. This one is harder because I have to run SopCast/TVUplayer on the host PC and on top of that, my PC has to re-encode the video in real time, which is pretty easy to do with VLC.
It lags sometimes when the image is moving too fast, but I can go at least 5 meters away before I see any difference, and I would probably get alot less lag if I used ethernet as opposed to WiFi on my laptop.
Here's my code:
vlc.exe http://192.168.2.14:8902 --sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=176,scale=1,width=176,height=132,acodec=mp4a,ab=64,channels=1,samplerate=44100}:std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=127.0.0.1:8901} --sout-all --sout-keep
(put this in a batch file, don't forget to change the ip's)

lots of details provided just click (more info) on the right, anyway my laptop died so I don't have any PC with bluetooth right now.

I just wish this so called "smartphone" had built-in wifi so I didn't have to use the laptop as a proxy...
DAMN YOU SAMSUNG!!!
... at least it has built in GPS that works offline pretty well with garmin maps.
