The best time of the day was almost the best time in the 37 year history of the Bellarmine Griffith Park Cross Country Invitational.

Loyola's Elias Gedyon ran the 2.9 mile rugged Los Angeles hill course in 14:15. That's five seconds slower than the 1986 mark set by Richard Erbes of Glendale.

The quickest girl's time at the September 25, 2010 meet was Cami Chapus' 17:34 for Harvard Westlake.

Gedyon's effort came in the Doug Speck seeded race named in honor of the late cross country icon who in year's past served the Bellarmine Invitational as a volunteer announcer.
