It was nub to lose 1 unit frontline, should have swiched him to fort and let the mage to the dmg.

I agree this isn't the best team - as I am not fighting Demons or Undeads, getting the knights upgrade is definitely better.

Another ranged attack (archer or wizard) would have rounded up the team better. I was having trouble keeping my leader alive which is why I went for the two concentrated healer instead.
