Cultural, and ethnicity do lead to different group interests, which lead to conflict, this has always been the case whether you talk about Indonesia in the 18th century or America today.

America is becoming a nation where ethnic conflict is becoming unavoidable. Working class blacks will be forced to compete with the tidal wave of working class hispanics, and both groups with have racially motivated political groups (black caucus, La Raza) vying for the interest of their constituency, which counters the best interest of the country.

There is healthy debt and "we are going down a cliff' debt. You should get a job in the financial sector for a while to understand the difference. Also, previous military operations did not devastate the economy, incompetent presidents do.
