One of the best examples of post-World War II social guidance films, with examples of "good" and "bad" girls, proper and improper dating etiquette, courtesy to parents, and an analysis of what makes some people popular and others not. A scream and a sobering document of postwar conformity.

  • love the use of Helvetica in the opening credits. Looks like some Futura as well. I'm so glad I didn't grow in this ti.e. I'm not sure how I would have coped.

  • Sluts are popular Mary. Maybe show a little skin.

  • Conformity or not. I wish more young boys behaved like Wally.

  • Sweater vest and earmuffs?

    Wally is my perfect man

  • Ginny is clearly a whore.

  • I'm hot for all the girls with them pointy titties & the fact u know their all wearin stockins & suspenders I wanna fuck Ginny hell I wanna fuck all of 'em! that early '50's look makes me froth at the mouth(& elsewhere!)

  • Carolyn looks like a boring drip. Even if Ginny is the "class squeeze," I'd bet she has more to talk about than Ginny! She certainly looks more fun than Carolyn, who looks like Polly Prim.

  • Girls can never win. If they don't park with a boy, they're called frigid. If they give in, they're called sluts.

I'm afraid, however, today the sexes are reversed. If a guy doesn't do it with a girl, he's called a homo, and if he does, he's called a player.

  • I don't think masculine men sit around ripping apart a girl's reputation. It's gossipping, and to watch men do it is deplorable. But the fact of the matter is that they're not men, but BOYS.

What does it say about the boys' sense of their own self-worth if the only thing they dislike about this girl is that SHE made it with THEM? The boys really think of themselves as dirt, not the girl, they're just projecting THEIR lack of self-esteem onto HER.

  • hell to the yeah she's really popular. popular like the village bicycle. everybody gets to take a ride!
