3624 First Due in Maple Shade

Motel fire in Maple Shade NJ, Quint 3624 arrives first due to find a three story motel with fire from a first floor room. Crew leads off with a 2 ½ inch hose line. Crew consists of Driver Crain, Captain Evans, and Firefighter Aiello. Captain Evans on the 2 ½ line and firefighter Aiello was dropped at the hydrant.

The video is the truck JUST pulling in. There is no line in the front door cause they just pulled up! There is no ladder to the second floor cause they just pulled up. The two on the third are cops checked rooms for occupants. The truck arrived with three people. One on the hydrant, one driver, and the captain. You can only do so much with three people.

@SkeetmanSir The point was, that THIS TYPE of gutless firefighting is what leads to the things i mentioned. Obviously this is standard practice on this department. If you're not aggressive on a bread and butter fire, I doubt you'll put it on the table when it really counts. I never said anyone died on this fire, nor did I say they burned the building down... If you find tactics of this sort acceptable, then I pose the question: What's the point of having a fire department? This is how entire buildings are lost, and civilians are killed. I believe we should be safe... But the fire service has become so overly concerned with safety that we're barely doing our job.

The problem with people in our profession is we're so quick to criticize and bad mouth each other without knowing all the facts. Some brotherhood. I have nothing to do with this department, I don't live anywhere near New Jersey. But I know there's only so much a three man crew can do by themselves.
