The Detroit Lions had a rough 2012 season as they finished 4-12 and are drafting 5th overall in the 2013 draft. The Lions may have a lot of holes to fill depending who they re-sign in free agency. I break down the Lions offseason moves, their free agents, their needs and who I have them projected with in the 2013 NFL Draft. Check it out, and feel free to subscribe!

I agree with Milliner at 5, but if he's not there, how great of a fit would Tavon Austin be? Calvin and Broyles on the outside, with Austin in the slot and Pettigrew down the seem. Of course this would mean the Lions trade out of the 5th pick and trade with maybe the Rams (Either 16 or 22) and snag him. Then with maybe an extra 3rd rounder (Just throwing out ideas) draft an Eric Reed or Kyle Long. If Detroit does this, they could have on of the most explosive offenses in the league.

Agreed. A guy like Tavon would be amazing in their offense. And you're right again, taking him at #5 would be way too high, they would have to trade back.

Tavon at 5 ?? lol no... I say go Ansha or Moore at #5 .. We still have free agent s to get and there are some good DBs we can get late in the draft .

Tavon even if its at five there is no other game changers in fa or the draft like him we can not afford to pass on hin like we did cobb plus he can play out of the shotgun backfield

Get tavon austin in the fist round he could easily fill javid best roll just look at his game tape he then go baccari rambo or matt elam second round every top defense has 2 good safety s playing the backfield n baccari Rambo is a ball hawk that means louis delmas coyld play in the box where he is best at now if tyrann Mathieu is still there in round 3 then deff take him such a game changer n to offensive line we definitely need another interior but riely reiff could fill guard

I'm a die-hard lions fan, and we NEED better defense. I think the lions definitely need to go defense with their 5th pick. If Suh and the rest of the up and coming D-line could get some help in the secondary or linebacking core, the defense could be taking a step in the right direction. I think this draft class has enough depth to cash in on a couple studs at receiver or running back later in the draft, and another o-lineman would help.
