Thanks for the info. Of all the bases I was on Midway seems to have the best memories. I hated it at first but learned to like it. I still have lots of home movies of Midway in 8 mm that I should covert to DVD and then upload to You Tube. This was in 1972 and 73.

@Boulderman55 I was also stationed there in July 81 thru Feb 82 and closed the place down when the Navy civilianized it with contractors. I was an AC1 at the time. Later it became a resort and anyone could land there and go fishing. I think it even had a new hotel built.

Very good to see Midway Island again. I was stationed on Midway while in the Navy in 73 an 74. It was phased out as a base in the late 80's. Can people go there to visit?
