You could probably get some paying gigs right away by contacting local restaurant/pub owners. This is the type of music they would love to have.
Yes, I'm speaking as an experienced gigging musician - roughly 16 years of professional experience to be specific in various styles such as jazz, funk, soul and even classical. As a band, you have a good sound that could take you places if you let it. :)
