@jlopez9090 Ok nice of you to get emotional on other's behalf, however 1) getting him tested is normal scientific procedure to be able to ascertain if there are other contributing factors to his abilities. If you just "leave him alone" you will never understand why he has his gift, furthermore he is fully willing and is actively participating in all these tests so get off your high horse thinking that he's getting taken advantage of. 2) He HAS adapted to normal society ie.our world.

@jlopez9090 well actually, by definition he does have a medical condition. He has aspergers and he himself said that it was a downside of being a savant. No he doesn't have anything severely wrong with him, but that doesn't mean there is no other side to that condition

@jlopez9090 being different doesnt have to be a bad thing

@MiddleOfNowhere101 Come on.. He obviously thinks the kid is amazing. "Our" does not necessarilly exclude daniel, think about that. And no one's talking about anything being broken either. Only that his brain is not functioning like a normal brain. And that is indisputable. They're just trying to understand why.

@jlopez9090 dividing by 0 is infinity. I don't think he spent that much time on that one.

@jlopez9090 I found the statement about adapting to our world a bit strange too,but I decided to just simply understand what was meant by it.As for trying to find something wrong, that's because usually when someone has incredible abilities like his, there is some kind of a bad tradeoff.I can see why any good scientist would want to see if he had some.In many ways the scientific community seemed pleased with the fact that he doesn't have any side effects, because he can communicate.

“The one criterion really missing to warrant a diagnosis is that his symptoms are not really interfering with his life. [...] He has managed to adapt to OUR WORLD.” = condescending BS from a scientist who should know better. Has Baron-Cohen considered that the algorithms running on this particular hardware (Daniel’s brain) are more fine-tuned to beautiful problems (math, languages) relevant to the modern world than those of others? That he may be ahead of the curve?
Different=broken. Pathetic.

@jlopez9090 you obviously dont understand how hard it would be to be autistic...

loved how he explained number six because if you do put 666 together then it is like a black hole..just intresting stuff ..amaizng brain!
2 things i hate. 1.) that they tried to find something wrong with him. um he doesnt have a problem socially he just has one of the most powerful brains in the world...no shit he wasnt the most popular. while steve and joe were impressing girls, this kid was dividing by 0. leave him alone. and 2.) that the therapist said, "hes somehow adapted to our world"...what an ego-centric fuck. its his world too, its everyones world and no ones world. get off you high horse
