A short scene from Sense and Sensibility that was taken and totally rescored, to test for different perceptions among an audience composed by music students and friends. Sound effects and dialogs had to be shut down.
I think this was very well done! Of course the music wouldn't be over the dialogue in some of the indoor shots, but overall it was very original and set the mood well.
Some of this is very nice. But the original score is more effective by far, especially as Marianne walks up the hill to view Wilhoughby's home. The tinkly piano here is too shmaltzy and in general the new score feels more modern and not fitting the quiet mood of dread and emotional exhaustion. Very interesting comparison though.
