IQ2US marks the launch of Oxford-style debating -- one motion, one moderator, three advocates for the motion, three against -- in New York City. Each evening begins at 6:00P with a complimentary cocktail period. As you enter the theater before the debate starts at 6:45P, you cast your vote for or against the evening's motion. Those results are displayed midway through the debate as each side makes its statements. After all six panelists speak, the audience has a chance to ask the speakers questions and vote again. The debate finishes with brief summations from the panelists, the votes are tallied and a winning side is declared.

When George W. Bush sought diplomatic solutions, then asked for help from allies and the UN, then gave formal warning to Iraq & Afghanistan, Liberals asked why he was acting "unilaterally" and "like a warmongering dictator."

When Barack Obama flounders on his role as "leader of the free world" and waits for the UN and Europe to decide what to do about Libya and other things, he's seen as a "world leader" and "a genius at foreign affairs."

This guy is surely not a real moderator. Did the actual moderator get taken to hospital and they decided to canvas the local Liberal Loons club for a replacement? He is so biased!!!

I wouldn't even let the moderator talk if I were on stage. When he tried to interrupt me I would reprimand him like a child and tell him that I will not listen to him if he is only going to interrupt the representatives for my side.

He should have been put in his place. The panelists who allow such intransigence are just as guilty as him. But he is a fucking douchebag. It kills me he was never put in his place.
