  • It’s the Jews that want to tax the internet. There will always be brick and mortar stores where else are you going to buy your gas?

  • Why tax everyone on the internet? If a business in California sells an item to a customer in California, the internet base company still collects tax. The internet seller is no different than the physical store owner; the only difference is the internet seller sells online. It's just a bunch of ignorant people being ignorant.

  • The internet is not tax free. You still have to file state sales tax if you buy anything in the state or across state lines. They're called use taxes.

  • This is why as a new resident and longtime Dem I will vote "R" in 2010, at least for state offices. Honestly, it's not paying the tax that I'm fired-up about. It's the keeping track of every single little thing, trying to figure out exactly what I owe, filing and if it's over $300, filing that month, etc., thus making tax time even much worse than it already is.

BTW - Why does the state not just adopt one single tax rate for the whole state?

  • The problem is not that the government does not have enough money. The problem is that our government is HUGE and spends way, way, way too much. Zero new taxes or increases to existing taxes should even be considered until all budgets both state and federal are balanced.
