@captainjman1976 You don't exactly understand what makes RED a quality movie camera. The 5D can turn out some fantastic images, but it is incredibly limited in terms of actual cinematography tools. The RED, Alexa, and Genesis are LIGHTYEARS ahead. Educate yourself, you have no idea what you're talking about. There's a hell of a lot more to it than the actual image.

@IbeJigsaw So only a stupid person would test a Red against a DSLR? Well I guess someones never seen the "Zacuto Great Camera Shootout". You're the one who's just hating to hate. This test does hold ground as far as curiosity goes. Obviously you viewed this video because you were curious to some degree. Lighten up man and stop talking down to people using unfounded knowledge about cameras you've never touched/owned .

@ZeroG84 I agree...An ND FIlter maybe Combined with a polarizer would have been a $20 dollar fix. Also taking advantage of the 5D's picture style to lower contrast like the Red's clip would have gotten it pretty close.

@theorderoforange Actually the 5D is using a 80mm vs the Red's 50mm. Using a cheap Polarizer for Reflections for cars would have fixed the problem for the 5D.....It's only $10-3- Dollars....Compared to the thousands paid for all the extra bells and whistles for the Red.

5D is great for low budget but the red one just laughs at it with like 12-14 stops of HDR

stop complaining about the exposiure, the settings were the same om both camera's so the comparison was more accurate

@Nihilism13 Of course, it also depends on the type of content you're creating. For commercials, low budget music videos, corporate - the 5D is fantastic. The C300 will, in my opinion, become the tool of choice for docs (I see it pushing ahead of the "Scarlet").

@IbeJigsaw I agree. The poster of this video can't even keep the camera steady at 50mm... I would rather see smooth flip camera footage.
