Pearl Fryar began work on the 3 acre garden in 1984 in an effort to win "Yard of the Month" for his home on the outskirts of Bishopville, SC.

My wife and my son and his wife visited the garden and i was just amazed how on person can do the things he does with plants. The man was just put on the earth to do that , a wonderful man i hope everyone can see his wonderful work God bless.

Pearl is the kind of person everyone should meet....he is a good, friendly person with a passion for his topiary and for helping young people get an education through his foundation. The world needs more like him! Do yourself a favor and visit his garden and with him.

Mr Pearl Fryar is an inspirational person. He has the ability to commune with trees. He is a saintly person, talking with him is a pleasure, calming and soothing your soul. I highly recommend visiting the garden and the gardener.
