She does at that.
I can only assume the escaflowne movie came out so badly because of executive meddling because it bares almost no resemblance to the original whatsoever. They just took the character names and made this weird chimera made up of parts Gundam, Labyrinth, Dracula and Lord of the Rings. You know, sounds good in theory but... Well, It looks damn pretty anyway.

Yeah, I would have kept Folken as the singer through the whole thing if it weren't for the uncanny resemblance of Dilandau's red armor to Michael's outfit in the original thriller video. Also, the complete lack of any footage of Folken actually moving because, well, a good description of the escaflowne movie would be 'a bunch of very white people not dancing'.
