Some of you may have come across this diet plan called the 3 day tuna diet. It has been floating around for some years now and some claim that in the span of 3 days, you can lose up to 10lbs. While it's not clear where and who started this diet there are some truths that you need to know before jumping into it. The diet has gained popularity because of the ease of weight loss. Americans especially are notorious for wanting things yesterday and will do anything to get results. In essence this is just another low calorie diet where you will consume approximately 1,000 calories a day. Now many people argue both sides of this diet. Some say it is dangerous because you are lowering your intake of calories too dangerous levels. Others say that since it is a short period of time you will do no major damage to your body. My suggestion is that if you want to try it go ahead. Just make sure that if you feel weird while doing the 3 day tuna diet to make sure you eat more. Some people get dizzy or feel faint and that is because they are experiencing low blood sugar. Eating something will fix the feeling almost immediately. Low calorie diets will only give you food cravings. After dieting for three days, you are most likely to end up eating unhealthy foods during the rest of the week, since you are free to eat anything you want. Studies made in the 1970s have shown that on average, the 3 day tuna dieter will eventually gain up to eight pounds a few weeks after finishing the diet. It may help you lose some pounds at the start but in the end you will most likely gain back the weight you lost or may gain back even more.
