Siksika Hate Crime

Four white supremacists are charged after a disturbing incident on the Siksika First Nation. Hate crimes like this need to end, before someone is hurt or killed. Recently, in a local newspaper, a newcomer to the city of Lethbridge stated: "I find my happiness blighted by an ugly undercurrent of racism in this city which I seem to encounter everywhere, very often directed toward native Canadians...Indeed, what is wholly astonishing about this senseless prejudice is the perverse pride some people seem to take in it. Never before have I encountered so smiling a racism, a racism so sinisterly confident that it actually revels in its own baseness, trumpeting its ignorance to all who will listen." Small towns, like Gleichan, and big cities in Alberta are attracting more and more white supremacists to their communities, because of the high level of racism already present there.
