coach, the Celtics are on a 6 game win streak and they are 7th in the Eastern conference as we spea. They are about 3 GB behind just about everybody above them besides knicks/heat, so they could easily get up in the standings. They are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA just by stats ever since Bradley has returned and are moving the ball exceptionally well on offense. I think you are understimating them and the damage they could do in the postseason.

this game was f'n sad. lakers, especially dwight had terrible body language. 0 assists for kobe and 0 block for howard. that might have been the worst game all season.

No one wants to admit it, but at this stage, Kobe's absolute refusal to defer a bit more to Dwight is costing this team. Forget all the criticism of Dwight's poor positioning, bad screens, failure to catch the ball. All that's acknowledged.

i agree it is fragile. I think we'll just have to agree to disagree, i respect your opinion. I'd love for the C's to prove Coach Nick (and me!) wrong, To completely revamp a team w/ the same players while losing an all-star mid season AND have playoff success would be remarkable.

as for avery's box score stats i believe his contributions do show up. The good is to's, steals and blocks (def), the not so good fg%, ft's and assists(off).

Also, having a defensive gem of a starting guard is special but not unique. AI leaves the den -c's game in the third with a neck strain, and the c's still need 3xOT to win. den minus AI is similar to clippers minus cp3, a deep team w/ no anchor.

Believe it or not im not trying to rain on the parade. C's are resilient and well coached.

I think they are shooting the 3 better because Rondo is not picking who takes a 3 and when, its just happening more in the flow of offense, so they are getting better shots from 3 pt land...I see your points as well, but hey success in the NBA is fragile and I m not saying the Celtics are the favorites to win the East obv, I m just saying that they still have a chance the way they are playing and Coach Nick is underestimating them for sure.

great point (love bradley, btw). But your point illustrates how razor thin the c's chances are in the playoffs. bradley's effect on wade can be schemed out over 7 games by off ball screens and spot up shots (less iso essentially). celtics have been shooting from 3 out of their minds post rondo(pre rondo 33%), that was as big a factor as any that game (which took 2x ot for them to win) and for that matter their recent success. for them to carry this into the playoffs would be incredible.

But you dont look at why wade struggled....Bradley played excellent defense on him all night, even on the last play, spoelstra drew up a play for wade but Bradley suffocated him so he had to dish off to Battier for a terrible three pointer 6 feet behind the line. Bradley is one of the best on ball defenders in the NBA, this is what doesnt show up on the stats/box score and makes the Celtics different than others teams.
