@JohnMalcolm its true, switching from heelstrike to forefoot strike will stress the achilles but over time it strengthens the tendon and increases flexibility. work up to longer distances, especially steep inclines. practice squatting all the way down w/ heels in contact w/ ground, helps lengthen that tendon. forefoot striking cured my shin splints, chronic knee pain, and plantar fasciitis. and it's more fun. run loose, knees bent, don't flex to absorb impact, run ON your legs not WITH them.

@TheRCat To me it indicates a sensitive microphone, that is picking up wind and distant traffic. How are your achillies tendons? Strained from cushioning the impact?

sorry but heavy heel striking is most definitely NOT an efficient method of running...
