A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens in 6 minutes!

This is a reduced adaptation of Charles Dickens' Christmas classic acted out using puppets. This was part of a Christmas Literacy project by the Year 3 (7 and 8 years old) Meerkats class at Wolvercote Primary School in Oxfordshire, UK.

The children were split into 6 groups, each taking responsibility for a section of the story. They decided upon the main events, storyboarded the scene and then wrote the dialogue as a play script. Their challenge was to try to keep their scene to 1 minute in length.

After acting it out in style at the school Christmas Carol Concert, they created puppet characters and scenery in order to turn their efforts into an animated movie.

Class teacher, Mr Hamilton, produced and directed the movie to showcase their efforts and give them a global audience for their hard work. Please leave the class your comments. Enjoy the show.
