@forrest225 Haha, good point :D
-
@SilaceWarrior I think this is more for the "Shit, they just RPG'ed my humvee, I need a new one" type situation.
:)
-
@izrealestness same as always, chinooks, blackhawks, kiowas, apaches, and some hueys
-
@Lintassimilator what kind of choppers do they use now?
-
Let me see it carry the same humvee with a 50cal plus its ammo 4-5 troops and there gear then il be impressed :P
Hell after that you could simply fly have your troops stay int he humvee and the blackhawk could drop you into a city street and off you go :D no landing required..
and sure as hell doesnt take so long to get from point a and point b and kick some ass
-
@Lintassimilator Correction. A Gunship has the ability to transport troops while maintaning its assault role, a MI-24 Hind is a gunship, so is a MH-60L, but a AH-64 Apache is a no-no.

guys i live on ft rucker alabama, we TRAIN ALL helicopter pilots, blackhawk carries troops and supplies, and is a medivac bird too
-
Yeah it really would... LMAO
-
that would suck and be halarious (probley spelled wrong).
As a helicopter enthusiast I can tell you right away, that is a blackhawk helicopter and nothing else.
A blackhawk helicopter can carry an external payload of 9,000lbs on a warm day, while your standard HMMWV has a curb weight of about 5,200lbs, even if we put on some extra armor on it (+2,000lbs) it's still a perfectly acceptable payload.
Blackhawks are not for combat anymore than they are for delivering ordnance and troops.
That's all I have to say, thankyou :)

Yes you're right, the Apache is a "gunship" and its for combat only. It's essentially a flying tank, and its not designed for anything else. It has a max payload of about 1,700lbs depending on various other variables like engines and such so it wouldnt be able to carry very much, from a hypothetical point of view of course.
Altho I cant see how you would mix up the two, they look very different from eachother, maybe google can provide some diagrams and pictures for you
Good luck :)
