Spam Musubi is like the national snack food of Hawaii! You can find it anywhere! In gas stations, inside quickie marts just about anywhere in Hawaii you can find Spam Musubi. This week I am making my variation of Spam Musubi for Wayde over at http://www.youtube.com/user/waydeswor.... He has a cool channel and he is living De Kine life in the islands. You should check out his channel. I hope you like the Spam Musubi! You can find my recipe for it on my blog @ http://www.richardblainesezcooking.co...

You don't put a fricken pickle and cheese in a Musubi. Do it the Hawaiian style

BTW I forgot to mention that you can also use a bit of chicken stock, just enough to get the rice moving and give it some flavor as well. And to tell the truth you know how vinegar adds a bit of tart so you can add a touch of lemon juice as well to get some tart and you will be fine! Hey! Let me know what you think when you try this out I would really like to know! Cheers!

You don't have to use mirin if you don't want to. You can use plain rice vinegar or red wine or even malt vinegar, but if you don't like vinegar then don't use any at all!
