  • i think the video you uploaded just got messed up; you weren't really playing this quickly huh?

  • Yes the video is not perfect BUT THAT IS OUR TEMPO. We will play this again in Central Park, New York, on Monday 24th March 2008. Why don't you come along? Our Carnegie Hall debut is the same evening. Is your comment good or bad ?

  • It was comissioned by the Huntingdonshire Concert Band, based in Huntingdon UK, which I play in. The band is now 18 years old and this was to celebrate the 10 year anniversary. We don't play it this fast, but I quite like this version. Shame the recording isn't clearer.

  • @andrewbassey o shit i missed it....

  • @idle44 it's called huntingdon celebration because there is a community band in huntingdonshire that was celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2003. they found philip sparke to compose this song for them

  • is there a song called singapore celebration played by primary bands in the SYF central judging of bands =)

  • its not really that hard of a tambourine part, and he didnt stay on it completely either

  • Nice job tambourine keeping that weird rhythm consistent.

  • my conductor says that a school named huntingdon? hired the composer, philip sparke to composed a piece of song for them for some celebration or was it their band anniversary thingy? well i can't remember~~ but it shud be tht this song was for that band anniversary i think...

  • we're playing this in concert band and we only take it a tad under this speed... i like it faster. :)

    a great song regardless, though.

  • I remember this song, we played it for all-district a few years ago. Our clinician didn't like the speed of it and slowed it down some b/c she said it was a celebration and not a gallop or march haha. Dr Grimes was the best. I think the speed thing has to do w/ the composer, but it was his idea so I won't argue it. This is a tiny band, and coming from a small band myself I would say it takes a lot to have this much talent in such a small band.

  • the conductor is awful.

he thinks he can conduct without beating.

that actually messed up the whole piece
