This video embodies many of the wonderful things that Hilo has to offer. You should come to the Big Island of Hawai'i for the waterfalls, the unique beaches, the glorious water life, and the lava. If you have an adventurous spirit and a curious mind Hilo is a must see. Hilo town has many museums that will teach about this beautiful world. Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii is one such attraction. This new planetarium and science center will attract and delight people of ALL ages. I know a 2 year old that absolutely loves it. I paddle Hilo bay with a 70 year old Kupuna that positively adores it.
Oh, and don't forget to enjoy a sunrise and a sunset in Hilo Bay.
Hilo is a great place, pleace come for a vacation in Hilo

  • im a 20 year resident of hilo and there are no white or yellow sand beach's anyware near hilo

  • @warchild4200

Warchild is partially right.. and then again, not sure what he is trying to say. I didn't say in the video that you can visit a yellow or white sand beach IN Hilo, only that you can see remote beaches around Hilo. So he is right in saying that, However there is a little known beach not too far from his house (that he may not know about) that DOES contain yellow sand!!! I spent the day there, it has ALOT of yellow sand and it is smooth as can be, but beach is hard to get to! Aloha!

  • Also, Four mile has white sand underwater.... and Secrets has a bit of white sand... U didn't forget that, did ya?

  • @boogiebuddy01 Yes, there are waves in Hilo, although we never get waves the way they do at North Shore. On Oahu they get 15'-25' waves in the winter. Here you will see waves in the 2'-8' range. Locals surf here every morning, out at Honoli'i surf beach, and body boarders can be found at about 5 different beaches within a 5 mile radius of Hilo. Aloha!
