Credit card fraud has become easier and easier with the introduction of the RFID chip into credit cards known as Pay Pass. For a minimal cost a criminal can buy a scanner off of eBay and as long as he/she can get close enough to your card steal your credit card information for their pleasure. Watch as I disable a RFID chip in my credit card and for your protection do it for yourself to your cards.

  • Too bad you can't legally do that to your passport too :(

So have you ever had trouble with any store or anything taking your card or refusing it? Just curious.

  • @WoWCasuist No.

  • what about the new 'chip debit cards'? I had a old debit/bank card without the chip...

    and it was somehow compromised.

So is there anything I can do with the new ones with the chip?...do they have any rfid's in it to disable making it still usable?

  • @MyGhettoGospel

No, your debit card does not have a RFID in it, it's just a microchip to my knowledge . I have a had my debit card with a chip in it for some time now as Kitchener/Waterloo was the pilot program in Canada for testing the chipped cards.

  • Hmmmm. Or...if the Fred Flintstone routine doesn't appeal to you, just try Googling FlippinEcc on Hub Pages... to protect your credit card...not destroy it ; )

  • @flippinecc

All my cards work great and are not destroyed ;)

  • Also. here the rfid is on the back of the other chip making this tut a bit hard.

  • @manwello15 I have paypass on my debit mastercard - In Australia. Great chan man +1 subscription. "Hack the planet!".

  • @frytek68 I mean use a ruler to find it and a screwdriver + a hammer to destroy it.

  • @craig2085 Get a new one. Most probably it will be the same. Use a ruler and destroy the antenna loop. :)

  • i got a new credit card last week and it is completely opaque no light goes though it.So i put it in the microwave for 1 second and it burn a line where the wire was.One problem the wire went though the magnetic stripe and that disable it.Now I can only use it for online transactions.I hope people figure out another way to disable the rfid.I also tried a hammer to the card for twenty minute before putting it in the microwave and the rfid still worked worked.

  • @manwello15
