www.docs4patientcare.org President, Hal Scherz, M.D., warns that Obamacare will "usher in a new medical dark age that will have a ripple effect worldwide."
Lol, japan is about 82 years, US is about 79? OMGZ! 3 year difference! Japan eats healthier foods than us and doesn't have government regulate what foods to eat. US differs because a lot of americans eat a lot of junk food
@drmurzee Don't tell me people don't die because they can't get care in those countries, because that is TOTAL crap. A man died from THIRST in England while sitting IN the hospital because the nurses ignored him. Even after he called the police from his room THREE TIMES.
not to mention all the people that are turned away from the lack of hospital beds. OH AND they have HALF the survival rate for cancer in countries with socialized medicine.
@JoeModesto Well, Joe, who's fault is that? If you aren't trying to get a better job or contribute more to society, then you don't really deserve the care, do you?
John Q public - this is not lies - you're screwed, sold up the river and don't even know it yet. Check back here in 10 years and we'll talk about the mistakes of the early 21st century - have a nice day - whether or not you can afford insurance, good luck finding a doctor - but don't worry - there will be plenty of physician assistants to listen to you whine.
What a bunch of pathetic lies! Socialized medicine exists in many nations with a longer life expectancy than ours (think Japan, germany, etc.). 90% of premature mortality is not even due to lack of access to healthcare, but because of poverty, genes and bad behavior. And yes, poverty can be fought with a redistribution of wealth, by definition, or at least with the redistribution of opportunity. We do not need to save American medicine, we need to fix it.

A Plea to Medical Students -
Please read today's "Truth Serum" Blog on the "Takebackmedicine" site, which speaks directly to the issue raised in this important video.

The problem with Medicine in the U.S. is that we let too many monopolies exist.
Doctor's should prescribe "therapies" instead of "drugs"
for example "Proton Pump Inhibitor therapy" instead of "Protonix"
One allows the patient to choose if which drug they want Omeprazole, Esomeprazole, etc. the Consumer and the Patient are the one and the same.
Brand drugs will have to compete with generic and prices would drop.
Also the Whole Foods approach works well too!
