  • these people? are we afraid of the word disabled?

  • id hammer fist the boney area of his forward and whack the back of the fist or do a backfist to the under part of the elbow FMA style

  • the music is disturbing :(

  • @hollowbullet

Of course you can parry away punches and kicks, but I -hate- doing that, it leaves you open for fakes and such. I won't drop my hands to parry a kick ever, and I'd rather slip, dodge, or block a punch than parry it.

    That's just my experience.

In my gym we trained that all the time, parrying push kicks and then countering with a hard leg kick as they spin off balance.

But it's not my style. Maybe effective for some...

But... What do I know. =P

  • @Anathematicmusic

You are aware parrying exists in boxing & muay thai, no? Parrying is the redirection of force, It is not the stopping of force. Did you know that you can counter, in boxing & muay thai, off a parry? In muay thai you can parry a kick too: when its coming at you, if you're out of range, you push the kicking leg in the direction it is travelling and counter while he is spinning in the direction of his kicking leg.

    But what do I know

  • @JohnnyBoyCali

Hahah, good to see you read my comment =p like I mentioned before, I train boxing and Muay Thai and BJJ, so I don't block with my wrists, but I have done full contact fights with my friends who train ancient martial arts, and one of my friends blocks very effectively with his wrists.

It's not a white belt move. And the way it's done isn't the way you do it in boxing. You're redirecting the force instead of stopping it like with western blocking techniques.

    But what do I know

  • @Anathematicmusic The reason so many martial arts styles block with the wrists is because they never spar 100% or engage in full contact fighting. Once you actually fight you learn that trying to block someone punching or kicking you at full force leads to a broken wrists. But you keep doing what your doing punching in the air doing your mcdojo karate and one day when you get in a full on fight and your wrists gets snapped you'll remember my words.

  • @JohnnyBoyCali

A lot of older martial arts block with their wrists. Just because it's not how you do it (Or how I do it, having trained boxing, Muay Thai, BJJ) doesn't mean it doesn't work. It just means you don't know how to do it properly.

  • Another mcdojo idiot on the internet trying to teach people mcdojo karate. You dont block with your wrists. You block with the strongers part of your upper arm. Everybody thinks there an expoert now adays.

  • I like the idea of bujutsuka in a wheelchair and using waza from the chair. Thanks for the clip. Osu
