LOL! Love these old music and t.v memories...sure would be nice to have good game shows repeats such as Scrabble with Chuck Worlery back even repeats from METV would be cool, some "Password" episodes, Hollywood Squares just to name a couple.

Who was the guy that wore the brown shopping bag on his head on the Gong show?

The Unknown Comic is the stage name of Canadian-American actor and stand-up comic Murray Langston (born 1945, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada), best known for his comic performances on The Gong Show, usually appearing with a paper bag over his head. Langston lives in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada.

I remember the song and the show - used to watch the show quite a bit. Great song, but it isn't the theme song to "The Dating Game".

I'm sorry to have to tell you, but your wrong...There were 3 songs used for the dating game from Herb Alpert. This was used upon entry of the guest that was to be dating. They used Spanish Flea and Whipped Cream to introduce the contestants. I was addicted to this and the newlywed game...back to back in the day on ABC 7 NY.

    Thank you

I respect what you're saying. I used one of the songs that people would identify the show with. Where do you see in the title "theme song"? I am very familiar with "The Mariachi Band" and when it was used (like you mentioned). I'm not here to argue or mislead people, however I never stated it was such.It was one of several songs used during the show. As far as when or how long after is not the issue here. I do want to thank you for the information for others to see.

Yes, the Dating Game, I was a kid but it was entertaining all the same. I was always wrong on which guy the girl was going to pick. It was especially funny when the handsomest dude came out first or second (or both) and you could see the look on the girl's face, like, "oh yeah, I musta really screwed up here." And then the plain-looking dude comes out as her date and she tries not to look disappointed.

Jim was always an underrated host. As he really did not get the credit he deserves.
