@MaryWaterton You Know the AMERICAN people did want it and the MIlitary AS WELL. So you are wrong... and Sen. Collins is a senator from a Liberal state not a Conservative state.. So get educated before you post stupid things here if you don't know where does she come from. It would be a different if she was from Wyoming or Alabama.
@TheOcantomi85 I would love for Giuliani to run for president again in 2012 and he would do good to have a moderate such as Collins or Murkowski as a running mate.
Thanks to fair minded people like her, America will move forward. Theres nothing I want more for America, than a Moderate Republican such as herself or Rudy Giuliani.
@MaryWaterton Your comment is hateful and most of all disingenuous. A majority of Americans are actually okay with gay rights including repealing DADT, hence why it was passed. Please think next time instead of just typing a bunch of nonsensical rants.
We need homosexuals in the military about as much as pedophiles in a day care center. Why the heck are democrats attaching this filth to the Defense Spending Bill that supports our troops? Answer: To ram through Congress something that neither the Military nor the American people want.
Democrats actually care about the American People and the fact that Democrats don't want the world to fall apart (not passing the Defense Authorization might mean more American soldiers dying in Afghanistan).
The Republicans are trying to use the fact that Democrats care about Americans to force Democrats to accept bad legislation that hurts Americans.
The Republicans have shown that they have no respect for Senate traditions whatsoever (traditions involving what kind of Senate actions are considered right or wrong, such as endlessly filibustering everything). They are holding the political process hostage to the detriment of all Americans and they have a quality that makes everything easier for hostage-takers: utter indifference toward the suffering of the hostages, i.e. us.
A very straight forward evidence non morale based argument, i like that, knocks the current law into place,

What good purpose are Republicans serving in the House and Senate? NONE! Get 'em out of there.
We have the chance to do exactly that in November.
