There is actual proof that carburation has advantages to fuel injection. you get more horsepower (slight) and slightly higher top speed but more lag from a dead stop due to the design of carburetors relying on vacuume where fuel injection forces fuel in which doesnt rely on vacuume.

The oil is clean because ALL OF THE SEDIMENTS sunk to the bottom of the pan. Every oil that sits that long will filter itself due to gravity. ALL the crap including coking will sink to the bottom given enough time. All you did was suck up the junk into the oil pump filter. It will HAUNT you later! Did you prime the oil pump and lube the cam BEFORE you tried to start it? If not THAT WILL come back to haunt you later as well.
