Sorry guys not entirely useful as a bit missing here and there...

1/ You may need to use long nose pliers to pull out the old bungee (Not shown)

2/You may need to thread multiple poles one at a time or use a 'draw wire/tape' (Not shown)

3/ You dont show the joining of the old and new bungee in such a fashion that the now oversized knot doesnt protrude out of the joinig collar, or if its just as easy to replace the entire bungee.(Not shown/mentioned)
