A render of the 1956 doo-wop hit song "Come Go with Me" by the Del-Vikings, sung as an a cappella multitrack.

"Come Go with Me" is a song written by C. E. Quick (aka Clarence Quick), an original member of the American doo-wop vocal group The Del-Vikings. The song was originally recorded by The Del-Vikings in 1956 and was released on Fee Bee Records. When the group signed with Dot Records in 1957, the song became a hit, peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and becoming the group's highest-charting song. The song was later featured in the films American Graffiti (1973) and Stand by Me (1986).

Doo-wop is a style of vocal-based rhythm and blues music, which developed in African-American communities in the 1940s and which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1950s and early 1960s. An African-American vocal style known as doo-wop emerged from the streets of northeastern and industrial Midwest cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Baltimore, Newark and Pittsburgh. With its smooth, consonant vocal harmonies, doo-wop was one of the most mainstream, pop-oriented R&B styles of the 1950s and 1960s.

LYRICS:
Well, love, love me darlin'
Come and go with me,
Please don't send me
Way beyong the sea;
I need you darlin'
So come go with me.

Come, come, come, come,
Come into my heart,
Tell me darlin'
We will never part;
I need you darlin'
So come go with me.

Yes I need you,
Yes I really need you,
Please say you'll never leave me.
Well, say you'll never,
Yes you'll really never,
You never give me a chance. (wop wop)

Come, come, come, come,
Come into my heart,
Tell me darlin'
We will never part;
I need you darlin'
So come go with me

Come on go with me...

NOTE:
This is the song that recent autotuned pop "singer" Sean Kingston is using for his recent hit "Dumb Love".

  • You should do the whole song, you have an amazing voice.

  • @fweakie101895 Thanks. I'd rather do other songs with the little time I have. making these videos takes many hours of work, it would be a lot of effort for little added value I think. ;-)

  • Ok this video is this the whole song?

  • @fweakie101895 No it's just a portion of it.
