People often tell me my Freelanders rubbish off road. Poor ground clearance. No low ratio. Independent suspension reduces ground clearance...

So I thought I'd produce a video to demonstrate my Freelanders ability off road. When fitted with electronic traction control Freelanders are surprisingly good off road. Their lightweight construction coupled with traction control makes a Freelander a much better off roader than most would expect.

Vehicles fitted with traction control don't suffer with spinning wheels. Spinning wheels are ABS pulse braked to reduce wheel spin. Power is then fed to the wheels with the most grip. Hence why my Freelander does so well off road. If one front and rear wheel spins and you haven't got traction control or diff lockers, then your stuck.

I'm not saying Freelanders are perfect. But they do deserve a better reputation than they get. All Land Rovers have faults. Stop picking on Freelanders and their owners. We don't deserve all the stick we get.
