de Caix d'hervelois was a pupil of Marin Marais. Little is known of his life. His music belongs to the last composed for the viola da gamba. The late french baroque music is très gracieuse and pleasing to listen to. Cd'H. wrote 3 books with suites for the viol and b.c..
