Another Great video to use in an ESL classroom. It gives a unique insight into British life and culture. It contains subtitles and is easy to understand for pre-intermediate students. It goes together with worksheets and it's is easy to use for any language teacher.

You can find the worksheets to this video here: http://pranft.multiply.com/journal/item/5/Food_in_Britain_38_ESL_worksheets_t...

Enjoy this great video, together with your student,

Cheers...

  • In the USA they stopped delivering milk about 1959. In New England , where I grew up, we always put vinegar on our fries ( though some use ketchup). I always wondered if it was a British carryover ( due to our heritage)We also put vinegar on cooked spinach, boiled cabbage, beets, turnip. It is not common across the US. Do they do that in England?

  • @Ldybug376 I actually don't come from England. I was born in Germany and I grew up in The Netherlands. We put vinegar mostly over our salads and we eat our fries with Mayonaise...

  • have you posted the worksheets?

  • @lynch52725 Yes, I've just posted them on my Multiply page, search for the link in the additional information under the video

  • This is a great video for my class. I am British and this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Where can I find your worksheets?

  • @elleirbag14 I'll post them as soon as i find time...

  • @Ldybug376 Also put vinegar on red flannel hash.

  • wow......milk delivered....in glass bottles yet. They used to do that in the usa. Possibly still do in some areas of the country. Everything tastes better in glass

  • Aren't the Robinson family so middle class? hahaha My goodness how misleading can a video be? And ofcourse the British family sits around a table together to eat - ofcourse not most sit in front the television!

  • @patranft Thank you so much
