@formichino1 -i would have loved to have been around in those days, all my uncles were into this stuff too,my uncle used to go down to brixton for gigs years ago!
-
@Bdiddly1 Back then it was only the black guys that did weed, in fact drugs of any sort was not taken to the degree thay are now,the upper set tended to kick the gong, I only knew of two guys that took hearts, and bombers, I was happy with a couple of pints!

@formichinoo -that sounds great man,did you guys smoke a lot of weed at those gigs?

This is a very interesting version, one I've never heard b4. The beat is a Ska/Rocksteady hybrid slickly done. Great upload, thanks!
-
Urbino, mainly as so many of the old artists are sadly no longer with us, but thanks to Island records we can still enjoy them!
-
@formichinoo How fortunate you were to be there! We won't see those wonderful days again will we?

this is good so....
with the Aces he was the best, a little lost on his own, first saw at the Ram Jam club Brixton London about 1966, Ken Booth stepped back and broke my girlfriends toe.Amassed a huge amount of Ska Rocksteady and Reggae from 64-79 stopped collecting when dub took hold, was the only white guy at the club West Indies in Harlsden when the Skatallites did a gig there, fond memory was LLoyd Brevet when passing his upright bass down the club stairs shouting "mind it dont get scratched man"
