This film ran as part of the Sunday night 'Wonderful World of Disney' TV show in January 1971. This first part features the rarely-seen Preview Center in Lake Buena Vista. Bad quality but priceless content. My copy of this film came from Ross Plesset around 1993 - thanks Ross!

  • Does anyone know how much land is still available for development?

  • In Florida? Six acres, but not all in one place.

  • @widenyourworld Of the 30,000 total acres that Disney owns, (27,000 originally and 3,000 additional over the years) only 7100 acres are developed. One of the first things Walt did was set aside 7500 acres as a conservation area never to be built on. Amazing!

  • @fjk67 Did I say six acres? I meant 22,900. I was close.

  • I was dating the girl behind the counter at 4:38

  • I was dating her at 23:13 (military time). "Dating."

  • How come EPCOT wasnt mentioned in the preview center film ? Because at this point it still going to be a City.

Well, If you are talking in terms of there being a Disney World at all, when it comes to taking a big hit, rising up and moving forward, Yes, Walt Disney would indeed be proud because at least what he did is still being shared and admired beyond his lifetime. But technically as far as the design of most of Today's Disney World, Walt would have fired some people. Lucky for those imagineers that Walt said that the design and plans would change as they moved ahead.

  • Although the development of the Cross Florida Barge Canal was stopped because of the negative environmental impact it would of created, our aquifer, lakes, and rivers continue to decline as a result of overpumping... ☼ I ♥ Florida! ☼ JUST CAST A LINE AND LET YOUR FLORIDA SOUL SHINE! ☼ I ♥ Florida! ☼

  • theirs a bunch of land however most of it is ither state property or privately owned/ farmland. disney paid like $200 per acre today expect to pay from $500,000- $1 mill per acre.
