The merger of the McDonnell Douglas and Boeing was a success! This is my tribute to the MD80, MD81, MD82, MD83, MD88, and the MD90.

MD-88 are powered by the Pratt & Whitney JT8D-219 and the MD-90-30 are powered by the International Aero Engines V2528-D5s. Similar to the Arbus A320 but are powered by the V2527-A5s and have a louder buzzing sound.

One other thing. The dedication at the end says dedicated to Douglas and Boeing. Shouldn't it be Douglas and McDonnell instead?. Don't ever remember reading that Boeing was in on the merger.

Simply a beautiful and graceful plane in the air. Looks somewhat clumsy on the ground though. Other than the gimbal problem it has, it's one of my favorite planes to fly on. I avoid it when possible for the reason stated.

im flying on one of these in 2 weeks ive only flew jet blue and southwest before ive seen some articles with not such great safety reviews of these planes cause there old and stuff any one have any problems flying allegiant?
