everyone changes significantly over the course of a lifetime. why can't dredg? after all, they're still dredg. many of their songs have positive messages that we can learn and grow from over time. listen to what they say and let the sounds sink in. i'm personally confident they will continue to change and surprise us for many more years, but their lyrics will always have something for everyone.

lol this sounds like 80's pop music

"Dredg WAS never, and should never have become anything HIP-HOP"
Gavin used to Rap in their Conscious EP... just saying...

The problem with PPD, for me, was the lack of technicality that I KNEW dredg was/is capable of incorporating, which El Cielo and Leitmotif had. PPD was catchy and had hints of dredg, but was relatively bland. I mean, Dino could have just been replaced by a drum machine. He was a monster in their first 2 albums. I don't like Gavin's current singing style. I feel he should have retained the way he sang in CWA. But that's just my opinion, and their direction is up to them.

Many don't like this new album because of obvious forced change.
Fact; Their paycheck writers want profit, and unfortunately, that can only come with mass appeal.
What easier appeal than to look at mainstream?
Hip Hop Producer Dan The Automator.
The problem with the above sentence is Hip Hop.
Dredg was never, and should never have become anything Hip-Hop.
This song is the most liked, and viewed from this album because it has dredg in it.
It's why you're commenting here.

I keep trying to get in to this record and just can't for the life of me do it. It's not that I mind change it's just WAY TO different from everything I fell in love with. It would be like a new deftones album sounding like nickelback or something. This is the only track I like and that's only because it samples a song from an older album. I dig the cover art though.
People need to understand that Dredg make their OWN music, which means that THEY can do what they want with their music. They didn't start their music career making music that other people wanted to hear. They made music that THEY wanted. People change, and so does their music style. Accept it or leave it.
