Millions of children have been taught the Sunday school song, "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands". But, do they REALLY know what they're singing?

I understand the intention Obie Philpot, the author of "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands".

I also understand the intention of C. Her­bert Wool­ston, who wrote the lyrics to the song you referred to, "Jesus Loves the Little Children". (Woolston didn't write the music, by the way. He simply wrote new words to George F. Root's Amer­i­can civ­il war song, "Tramp, Tramp, Tramp".)

I disagree with the idea of using lies to teach values, however good those values are.

I really don't know, Tanuki. I made that video because I was surprised to learn that children are taught a Sunday School song that contradicts what the Bible says. At the very least, I'm hoping that my video will make people -- both believers and non-believers -- think about what they have been taught.

I am an Atheist. This world is ruled by the wealthy. As far as that song goes, lol, it's easy to believe in a god when your stomach is full and there's a roof over your head. A woman that has lost a few of her children to starvation would have a really hard time believing there's any kind of god. If there was truly a god, wouldn't you have to say he loves rich people and hates the poor? sic.Good men do good things, bad men do bad things, only with religion can you get good men to do bad things.

Spooky. And so true. Anyone that can overlook the suffering of this world is either hard hearted or deluded. While one life (human, animal, vegetable) suffers and dies in this world , it can never be beautiful. This is a sad and fallen world. The only way out is through JESUS CHRIST. HE is beautiful, holy, ever lasting, loving, sinless.

I believe you may have missed the point of the song. When I was a child and was taught this song in Sunday school, it was taught in conjunction with the Love that God has for all of us. Red and Yellow, Black and White we are precious in his sight.

He, who was cast out has ruled and as weird as it may seem, the truth is that some power that we only get glimpses of, and hear of in myth and legend, is somehow real. We all see the strange lights in our skys.

Only Love can can defeat fear.
