  • The latest research supports a "neutral spine" position, which means there is a slight curve of the lower back away from the floor [the same way the back naturally curves when standing]. This curve may lower slightly towards the floor when the spine is flexed as it is in this exercise, however the curve is not forced by imprinting into the floor -- unless there is a low back pain issue that is more comfortable in flexion. In that case the spine can be gently pressed into the floor as an option.

  • I was taught to "imprint" ribs to hip connection the curl up. Is this right?
