In 1996, Rich & Stew guested on the Channel 4 show, "Gamesmaster".
Featuring astronomer Patrick Moore as the eponymous Gamesmaster, and hosted by tabloid columnist Dominik (yes, with a "K") Diamond, "Gamesmaster" was one of many TV shows of the time to cover console gaming.

In this edition, Lee & Herring compete against each other on some sort of directorial package.

  • Cheers for that. "He's not a Palme d'Or judge, is he? He's Patrick Moore in a hat."

  • This was MAH favourite show when I was a kid.

  • What kind of game is this? A video editing game? I'm sure I watched this when I was a kind, but I must be missing something...

  • Moore's assessment of Lee's film essentially summarises people misunderstanding his stand up career for years to come.

  • Lee & Herring, Patrick Moore and video games. What's not to love?

  • @UncleKennybobs Imo he's more fun now that he can't form words. "Eremehdaybee, jussoniunyen. Ratayssisunyen, no, nokeenonad. Edderno sumnaykanum, it, uhm, rihonhanow?" "Well, yes, Patrick; in the last few months astronomers in the southern hemisphere have been captivated by Venus."

  • err. wut?

i remember gamesmaster.. but not like this

  • Was Gamesmaster always this shit? I remember it looking like a Terry Gilliam movie. Oh childhood...

  • @imjackcooper This actually made me spit my brew...haha.

  • "The endless repetition of the same material seems to indicate a complete lack of talent"

Moores been watching his recent standup then ;)

  • Pause the video at 10 seconds.

No man has ever looked more like Caroline Quentin, ever.

  • When Dominik says "it's presentation time" at 4:05 you can hear Stewart say "wot?". So bizarre to have these guys on Gamemaster, the audience were never gonna get them and they were never gonna get Gamemaster!

On another note, is that Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes To Hollywood at the beginning of the clip?!?
