The New Skin of Art (experimental video)

I did this video for my art option. The subject was "You have to create your own revolution with tree colours: blue, white, and red".

This video could be interpretate in many different ways.
To sum it up, I would say it talks about an artist who isn't satisfied by the current kinds of art, nowdays. She discovers at the end that classical art and modern art mustn't be taken as opposite but something can be created form these two kinds of art.

The video is also about the difficulties of being an artist, to express your own vision of the world when so many artists have done it before you.

About the colours blue, red and white, I would say that the red represents the apparence of the classical painting but the blue represents also their frozen look. And the sculptures can be blue because of their dark aspect but they may be more red (living) than the classical paintings. Then, the blue and the red are mixed on the white (the canevas) and here is my revolution.

But I'd like to interprate as you like.

This video was edited with Sony Vegas 7.0 (my first time using it).

The way I see it, it seems to me like the girl in the video (who's probably you) is struggling to find originality in her paintings and feels as if past works of art are trying to grab at her or make fun of her and she's trying to run from it because of the appearance of hands reaching towards her and she how seems frightened. In the end,she discovers that the past is speaking to her,not trying to mock her.With that,she manages to make something new out of what the old said.I love this video!
