These people should never have been asked to sing the national anthem in the first place. They would've saved a lot of embarrassment to this country.

He's old enough to know better. If he was in such bad shape, (as you put "in his seventies or eighties") he shouldn't have even gotten up there and desecrated our nation's National Anthem, period. He needs to stick with Minnie the Moocher and leave more challenging material for the artists who respect the Star Spangled Banner enough to practice before they perform in front of millions and deliver a proverbial slap in the face to all Americans..

@Vidiwell100 In Calloway's defense, he was pretty old then at least in his 70s if not 80s, so him messing up I'll overlook...plus for an african american musician coming up in the 20s and 30s, one mainstream hit is a lot..he helped jumpstart the careers of ella fitzgerald, duke ellington, pearl bailey, ruth brown and countless others. He was so celebrated b/c had he been white, he would have had more mainstream hits and put on an even higher (more deserved) pedestal.
