Shortly after this, Japan came out with tons of amazing sports cars with unique technologies. But from 2000-2010, they went numb again with the exception of the GT-R, RX-8, and improved Evo and STI models. Hopefully we'll see a comeback in this decade. The Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ has me hopeful and excited.

-
European car makers haven´t really learned to make reliable cars.. french cars for example..
-
@TheEngelZ10 ha! expect for the BMW M series or the Mercedes AMG cars
-
that's why you get a black nsx
-
How did European car makers learn to make reliable cars? by copying from their Japanese counterparts.
-
@redknightricky well watching top gear overall you can tell automatically that they are biased against japanese cars so it's not real surprise that they never praise japan
-
Different market for different people.....
one thing is for sure: the Z series owns all european sports cars.

Let's see here... Porsche is now experimenting with hybrid technology and BMW got regenerative brakes on most of their cars now. Where did they buy the technology from? Toyota. It's a common practice among engineers to take an idea that makes sense and use it. As for Clarkson, I don't think he understood the appeal of the Japanese sport cars at that time... sad.
