Today polar bears and their natural world are under threat from climate change. The ice -- their platform for hunting -- is simply disappearing. The Chukota people of extreme North East Russia bear witness to a world that is literally melting away. Hear about the bears of Svalbard in Norway and see how WWF tracks them across vast terrains by tagging with electronic collars. Support WWF's work by adopting the Svalbard polar bears. www.wwfadopt.com

@pistoe thanks for your comment – WWF aims to raise awareness of the very serious potential impacts of global climate change, informed by the large and ever-growing body of sound and peer-reviewed science. The Arctic ice is shrinking - polar bears are officially classified as vulnerable and threatened, and the overall trend is their numbers are in decline, so we’ll continue to work in the Arctic to maintain a healthy environment with undisturbed ecosystems and healthy wildlife populations.
