  • Jesus. Is the question verbose and nondescript enough??

  • In many ways, sound is like the wind.

  • @Cavaleer, that's NOT true, that all people thatbhave achieved greatness have large egos! I knew Jimi Hendrix and he was as humble as could be! I didn't "know" Micheal Jackson but have mr a couple of his siblings (who were also very humble) and MJ was known to be on of the most humble people ever. I've worked with and met many GREAT musical artist and some were ego-maniacs and some were very humble.

  • this clip is about a genius speaking not about anyone else.

Arguing about Hendrix's ego or other rock musicians should be done elswhere. Ornette superceeds this type of critique and likely knows how to spell words correctly, unlike some of the artless human forms who persist on trying to be cool

    and come sounding like fools

ENJOY THE MUSIC NOT THE POWER OF GAB

  • @cavaleer Up yours.

  • @benroo89 LOL, I guess the shoe fit on my last point. I didn't say YOU thought that way. I said LOSERS think that way. Besides, Jimi's voice was average at best and he knew it. It worked great with his music and style, like Dillon, Robert Plant and many other rockers but by itself his, like theirs, was average.

But if the shoe fits, definitely put it on, like you already have. lol Carry on Big L, carry on. hahaha

  • @cavaleer Don't tell me what I think you moron. Don't lump me into some category. Never tell me what I think again. I do praise egotistical people, like Roger Waters, Beethoven etc. However, I stand by everything I have said about Jimi Hendrix.

  • @benroo89 Actually you're mistaking being a perfectionist with not having an ego. John Coltrane never liked what he most recently did. It's the same with perfectionists in other fields, like Jerry Rice, who only watched film on his mistakes. But the deeper point is why you people think it's GOOD not have an ego. The fact is no one who ever achieved anything did not have a very strong, large, active ego. It is a prerequisite for greatness and should be PRAISED. Only losers think otherwise.

  • @cavaleer Hendrix hated the sound of his own voice. He only had the confidence to sing when he heard Bob Dylan, whose voice was not conventional. Hendrix had no ego. I think you are referring to his aura.

  • @benroo89 Hendrix definitely had an ego. He knew he was a genius. That's why he said he didn't like fans talking to him about his music- cause they were a distraction. Hendrix wasn't egotistical, like say, Mile Davis. Neither was Coleman or Coltrane. To create, to be an artist of any sort requires a very strong ego, great self-confidence. This BS about being humble and all this stuff is for weaklings and non-artists. Being soft-spoken, like Coleman, Hendrix or Coltrane doesn't mean no ego.
