I completely agree. Live foods are completely unnecessary to keeping a healthy oscar. This behavior (what can I kill next) is the kind of crap jeff dahmer and andrew cunanan were into. A twisted adolescent mentality. More importantly, native frogs are under extreme ecological stress. If you want to raise feeder guppies or platies, fine, but don't harvest threatened animals to feed to a captive fish. Lots of research indicates goldfish are not a nutritionally balanced food.

You've got an amazing point here. It's like when you filet a catfish, or dress your kill in the field, you show great respect because God provided you with that animal. You don't take pleasure in seeing it dead, but you feel very thankful and respectful. Laughing about an animal being killed like that is no different than watching dogfighting... Just my 2 cents...
