First of all 1200p would not be a downgrade. Second of all it's not a common format because TVs use 16:9 as the "common format"! Computer monitors are going the same way because 16:9 monitors are cheaper to make than 16:10 monitors.
I really don't understand why this is so complex for some of you people.
